This additional buffer capacity has been created to better respond to peak congestion and potential emergencies, with the aim of increasing safety on public roads.
The Truck Buffer can accommodate approximately 350 trucks and remains closed under normal circumstances. When the situation requires it, the buffer is activated, and a security officer from the ECT Euromax terminal opens the gate. Terminal staff then guide incoming and outgoing traffic according to a first-in, first-out principle. Drivers must follow the instructions of these staff members at all times.
The Truck Buffer is exclusively accessible to freight traffic. A maximum speed of 30 km/h applies within the area, and at this time containers with hazardous cargo (IMO) are not yet permitted. These containers must be parked in the designated parking area in front of the security lodge.
